Great news for Malaysians now! Touch ‘n Go eWallet has made it easier for its 20 million users to make seamless payments while traveling to popular destinations like mainland China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. This has been made possible through its integration with national cross-border QR payment systems and its partnership with Ant Group‘s Alipay+.
For example, in Indonesia, Touch ‘n Go eWallet is now accepted across the QRIS network, providing access to over 25 million merchant touch points with competitive exchange rates.
Since 2022, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has been working with Alipay+, enabling cross-border payments across various countries like China, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Alipay+ has expanded this service to more countries, including Thailand, to enhance convenience for users and businesses, allowing for seamless transactions across borders.
According to Alan Ni, the CEO of TNG Digital, technology has allowed them to address the pain points users face while traveling, such as carrying cash. Users can now make transaction with the Touch ‘n Go eWallet during their travels, enjoying convenience and peace of mind.
When traveling to these countries, users should look for specific logos to make payments. They can transact in the local currency, with real-time foreign exchange rates displayed in the eWallet before making payments. The payment will be deducted from their eWallet or GO+ balance, just like our local payments in Malaysia.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet also plans to expand this service to other Asia countries, including Philippines, Australia, and others, offering its users a wider range of cross-border payment options easier.
